The Beartaur is a minor antagonist and later a minor supporting character in the Netflix series, Centaurworld.

Physical Description[]
The Beartaur is a massive creature and one of the largest in all of Centaurworld. Most creatures avoid him in fear of his size and appetite, as he is big enough to hold and use most creatures as if they were toys. He wears glasses and has the lower half and ears of a bear. His upper body is hairy (though less than his lower half) and sports a short, blonde beard.
Personality[]
Beartaur is a stickler of a history buff, more interested in preserving and studying it than aiding others. He treasures his collection of figurines and carvings depicting the ancient wars, and is implied to have petrified living creatures into figurines for authenticity. He is proud of his trivial knowledge and is quick to bicker with others who disagree with him and his lifestyle.
Most other centaurs avoid him completely rather than risk riling him up. The Forestaurs sing in It's Hidin' Time that Beartaur wakes from his hibernation and devours anyone he can find out of hunger. The Beartaur himself denies this and calls such accusations "hurtful things in children's rhymes" that Horse should ignore. Given how he treats Horse and others, however, it is clear that he is no stranger to harming or even killing smaller beings.
Relationships[]
Woman[]
Beartaur is the Woman's landlord and lets her live in his cave as a roommate. They tend to avoid each other and get on each other's nerves over the other's "disgusting habits", but they share a close understanding deep beneath their bickering.
When Woman returns from the first season finale despairing over her showdown with The Nowhere King, the Beartaur chews her out for doing nothing but eating ice cream and leaving a mess around the cave. He does encourage her to come with him to The Hootenanny to lift her spirits, and willingly helps her when she decides to strike back at The Nowhere King's armies.

Trivia[]
- On one of the Beartaur's shelves, a few interesting books can be seen, including:
- History of Centaurworld
- Pony Tales
- Dune
- According to the series' lead character designer Evan Palmer, some details about a centaur's appearance are a manifestation of their will. One example is the Beartaur having fur that look like cargo shorts[1].
- Small replicas of the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek can be seen on one of the Beartaur's shelves.
